Along with our visit to Arizona last week, part of our trip was also geared around our hike of Buckskin Gulch. It is considered one of the longest slot canyons in the world, and I had been looking forward to doing this hike for some time. As the day got closer, the weather was looking worse and worse (and being in the bottom of a 400-foot deep, 5-foot wide canyon is not the place you want to be when a rain storm sets in), so I was very worried we would have to cancel our hike.
In the end however, the weather held out and we had a great time. The pictures really don't do it justice - it was one of the best trips I have ever been on.
Here is a short video showing a particularly narrow spot:
We had a big windstorm blow a tree down but made the best of it
Upgrading our solar setup for energy independence
A few small upgrades for the boat and an end-of-summer trip to the San Juan islands
Replacing the shore power plug with a SmartPlug and adding a galvanic isolator
Installing a Discovery Bay Power Hauler Crab/Shrimp Pot Puller
